I am very impressed with your journal entry from Mr Mandela’s perspective! I think it was a great idea to write his journal entry as if it was Christmas day. I would imagine special days like this would be the hardest if you were in prison. It would remind you of what life was like outside of prison. I like how you have described that all he can see is lots of grey, grey and more grey. I think he would have felt sad too but I like that you mentioned he would have felt hopeful as well. I’m sure he would have been trying to remain positive and hopeful for the future.
This was a really well written and thoughtful piece of writing Leon. Well done! I am interested to know if you enjoyed this activity? I think this activity is a great opportunity for us to put ourselves in someone else's shoes and consider things from their perspective.
